eBooks Now Available at NPL!

Post Date:08/19/2013
Norfolk Public Library has expanded its services with eBooks that can be downloaded from the library’s website. Norfolk Library card holders can check out and download eBooks anytime, anywhere by visiting www.npl.lib.va.us.

Users may browse the library’s website, check out with a valid library card, and download to PC, Mac, and many mobile devices. Some users will need to install free software. To read or download eBooks, users may need the OverDrive Media Console app and/or Adobe Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod, Nooks, Kindles, Sony Reader, and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!

NPL would like to thank the Friends of the Norfolk Public Library for their generous donation of $15,000 as well as the Norfolk City Council for their allocation of funds to purchase eBooks. We would also like to thank the city of Norfolk’s Information Technology department and library staff for their hard work in bringing eBooks to Norfolk.

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for library cardholders who are Norfolk residents, or work or own property in Norfolk. For more information, please call (757) 664-7328 x353 or visit our eBooks page.
