Message from the Director

Sonal Rastogi- head shot(1)We hope you enjoyed your summer and had fun attending events at the Norfolk Public Library (NPL)!

Autumn is an exciting time for NPL, as we prepare to move into the Library’s new main library, Slover Memorial Library. Scheduled to open in January 2015, Slover Memorial Library will be a vital center for community learning, leading edge technology and civic engagement.

There are a variety of activities and services being offered this fall! Here are a few highlights:

Multicultural Programs
NPL will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, and American Indian Heritage Month from November 1-30. Enjoy a variety of new events and programs that include Latino film festivals, bilingual concerts, drum groups, dancing, and wild bird demonstrations.

Saturday Programs
You spoke, we listened! Starting in September, NPL will offer a Babygarten class, KinderREAD/KinderMATH program, and a 1-2-3 Play With Me program every Saturday at certain library locations.

NPL’s Digital Collection
Plug into our expanding digital collection! We offer 24/7 access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines and TumbleBooks
(eBooks for eKids). Download or listen to your favorite titles at
