Volunteer of the Year 2016

2016 Volunteer of the Year:

Jeanne Bowers

Jeanne has been volunteering for Slover since January 2015.
From shelving and correcting unorganized sections to guiding other volunteers, Jeanne makes a regular impact not only on the way the library looks, but the way NPL operates. She has helped with prepping for programs and even stickered hundreds of juvenile picture and board books. She has served as resource personnel for a 123 Play with Me Program and dedicated her weekend time to helping parents with challenges they may face with their toddlers. As a retired nurse, her experience and advice proved to be well received and appreciated by parents.
From her nominator: “She is a fast paced, hard worker, and is diligent about getting her work done… Jeanne is such a gem and such an asset to NPL. Her hard work, great attitude, and dedication make a profound difference to the workload on the second floor (of Slover).”

The Norfolk Public Library appreciates Jeanne’s dedication to the library volunteer program.
