Linda Brandt, July Volunteer of the Month

Volunteer of the Month:

Linda Brandt

Linda Brandt is a volunteer at the Little Creek Branch Library where she volunteers on her days off as a Zookeeper at the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk. She has been a huge help with weeding out the adult and juvenile non-fiction collections this spring and summer, as well as keeping the toys clean each week. Linda has been such a big help as a volunteer since February, and she cheerfully tackles any task we give her.

Originally from central Pennsylvania, Linda started her career as a professional Zookeeper working at ZOOAMERICA North American Wildlife Park in Hershey while finishing her bachelor's degree in Biology from Bloomsburg University. Upon graduating, Linda then accepted a job at the Virginia Zoo where she has been working as a Zookeeper for seven years. Linda states, “I have always loved reading and naturally gravitated toward the idea of spending time in a library. I have been enjoying my time at the Norfolk Public Library, and I’m glad that I can be part of the Little Creek Branch making a difference!”

The Norfolk Public Library appreciates Linda’s dedication to the library volunteer program. The “Volunteer of the Month” receives a $10.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble and well as a Certificate of Appreciation.
